Goldberg Variations.
Working through the 16th. var., titled "Ouverture", I felt something was "off" in this variation. It was a very subtle feeling. I started counting the bars with repeats and counted 95 of them. Not the regular 64 or 32, but 95. I am adding up 9+5=14. Now, let's look at Bach's name. B is the 2nd letter in the Latin Alphabet; A is the 1st, c is 3thd, and H is the 8th letter. 2+1+3+8=14. Did Bach embedd his name using numerology? 1+4= five, a number with profound mystical meaning. The concept of the five elements has existed in various cultures worldwide for centuries. Western traditions typically identify these elements as earth, fire, water, air, and spirit. The idea is that all physical matter can be classified under one of these elements.
The spiritual significance of the number five is also prevalent in various religious and cultural contexts. For example, Christ on the cross had five wounds: one in each hand, one in each foot, and one on his side.
Another symbol associated with the number five is the pentagram, a five-pointed star often used in occult and mystical practices. The pentagram has various symbolic meanings, representing the five elements and senses.
While some may dismiss these connections as mere coincidence, others find profound meaning in the symbolism of the number five and the five elements. The depth and complexity of these symbols invite us to delve deeper, to uncover the layers of meaning they hold.
